AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Unfortunate delay of salaries, pending social pensions are Govt’a fundless situations irked resentment among among the public ahead of Durga puja. Even though "fund crisis" was beyond expectation in Tripura under BJP era, when State and Centre both are ruled by BJP, huge numbers of Tripura Health Dept employees have come in protest at the West Dist CMO Office demanding pending salaries, 2 days ahead of Durga Puja. Before calling media, since a week the employees many times urged the office to clear their salaries but saying "fund crisis" they are not yet paid. In all Districts, the condition has been said as same. Addressing media, the agitated employees said, "Even the sweepers also got their wages but working under Health Dept for years, nothing has been changed with us. Earlier also we were not allowed to raise our voice and the condition is still same today. They officers are not ready to even listen us. Everyday we are coming to this office and with various excuses we are being returned from here without getting anything. How can we manage our families like this ? Also we could not buy dresses for our children and family".
On the contrary it can be noted that Chief Minister recently has announced that he doesn't have much funds for roadway project and survey says various depts are left in same situation including social pensions are also stopped.
Over 800 contractual employees were terminated including poor mid-day-meal workers. There is a massive slash in MGNREGA works and rural areas are suffering due to no workless conditions. Heavy commodity price hike has hit the market increasing suicide cases in prominent areas in the capital city.
