AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): BJP before Assembly Election in its agreement with Govt Employees promised to double their salaries and an economic boom will lead the state, govt revenue to be increased. But till day since 7 month of Govt formation, 7th Pay Commission has remained far from reality, whereas various national media are reporting falsely out of fake propagandas that Tripura Govt employees already got even arrears of 7th Pay Commission. The BJP also assured that 7th Pay Commission will be implemented with effect of 2016. At the beginning of the agreement whose copies were distributed during signature campaigning of BJP it was said, "Tripura's employees long pending demand is 7th Pay Commission. Almost all the states in India already have implemented 7th Pay Commission or providing salaries at Central scale. But the Left Govt has been depriving the employees in the name of Pay Revision committee". It also promised Rs. 10,000 salary will be increased at Rs. 20000, which will lift the economy of the state and markets to reel under massive profit. "Thus BJP demands 7th Pay Commission which will consider minimum salary at Rs. 18,000 with FF 2.57 with the effect of 2016, January", said the BJP and Employees agreement.
In Rajasthan 50000 Govt employees protested during Modi's visit on Oct 6 demanding 7th Pay Commission. Expressing resentment and discrimination amongst the state government employees after the grant of four higher allowance of 7th Central PayCommission (CPC) to All India Service (AIS) employees serving in the state and negligence towards its demand, Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has called for series of Non-Cooperation Democratic Movements in the form of ‘pen and tools down’ agitation on Oct-5.
In July 2018, Primary schoolteachers of Assam on Wednesday wore black badges in class as a protest against the state government's "misleading" revision of their payscale.
The protest was called by the All Assam Lower Primary Teachers' Association just after finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced to accept the recommendations of the Pay Anomaly Committee formed last year.
Block Grant Teachers in Odisha who were demanding pay on par with the regular state government teachers may have a harsher punishment imposed on them. The state government has decided to opt for 'No Work No Pay' policy for teachers and lecturers who go on strike.
Much in contrast, the Rajasthan government has said that it will actually increase the salaries of the state government teachers as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission, but when it’s about salary hike it is yet to be increased.
Up further north, the teachers in Jammu and Kashmir have also been protesting for the implementation of the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. Those in Bihar are also in a queue and are yet to receive the pay hike benefits as per the 7th pay commission - they have threatened a strike, but the government is looking to placate them and that too soon.
In Mizoram and in many more states the actual hike was not experienced even after 7th Pay Commission's announcement whereas in national media it’s reported that Tripura already was hiked by 18% which is totally a baseless claim.
