Supreme Court seeks State, Centre's stand on Tripura NRC : INPT says, 'Rajnath Singh confirmed move on Tripura NRC after Assam', BJP’s secret Plan on NRC exposed
TWN Oct 8, 2018

AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): BJP’s secret communal game plan in Tripura exposed which fully targeted against political opponents, majority Bengalis like in Assam. Tipraland issue is now suppressed with two of tribal party IPFT's leaders are holding State Ministry, the Lok Sabha Election talks instead of fighting on the basis of Economy and BJP Govt's performance in vision Document is focusing more with NRC since Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has met Tripura's tribal party INPT which wants NRC's implementation from 1951. On Monday, Supreme Court has asked both State and Centre to respond on the NRC plea of another Tribal Party "Tripura People’s Front" (TPF). However, on the same day (today) INPT calling press conference declared that Rajnath Singh not only met them but assured once Assam NRC is done, decisions will be taken on Tripura NRC. After 1951 Tripura's local Muslims had exchanged their lands with East Pakistani (Bangladeshi) hindus and then in 1971 there was a deal (Indira-Mujib) by facilitating the rest refugees who came without land exchange with citizenship. But according to INPT, Tripura's demography has been changed by illegal intrusion in the tribal dominated Tripura and thus the party leaders met Rajnath Singh and also claimed for receiving positive response.

The Supreme Court on Monday has sought response from the Centre on National Register for Citizens (NRC) to find out the illegal immigrants in Tripura.A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph referred the plea, which will now clear the stand of Tripura and Central Govt both. Tripura Law Secretary Data Mohan Jamatia has accepted that the Govt has received notice from Supreme Court to respond the petition.

On October 5, Govt of India has declined INPT's claim of "NRC likely to be implemented" in Tripura as true.

"News reports have appeared to the effect that a delegation of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT), after a meeting with Union Home Minister, has claimed that NRC is likely to be implemented in Tripura. These reports are absolutely incorrect and mischievous. Union Home Minister met a delegation of INPT led by its President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl on 4th October, 2018. However, no assurance of any kind was given by Union Home Minister regarding implementation of NRC in the State of Tripura. It is categorically asserted that no decision has been taken on the issue of NRC in Tripura", Govt notification said.

However, now according to Supreme Court's order the Govts have to clarify the stands on NRC implementation in Tripura as INPT BJP's upper level enmity is also suspected another mutual pre-poll agenda which happened in case of IPFT before the Election resulted one journalist's murder at Mandai during political clash.

After Rajnath Singh green signaled (INPT's claim) NRC too in Tripura it can be mentioned that on July 30, the Centre had published a second draft NRC list of Assam in which out of 3.29 crore people, the names of 2.89 crore were included, slashing 40 lakhs Bengalis out of the list. The first draft of the NRC for Assam was published on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1.

Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Deb however has been strict against NRC issue. After CM said while addressing media at Nagpur RSS office premise on July 31st, "No need of NRC in Tripura, everything is organized in State" on Sunday according to few media reports CM said, "Even Assam NRC is succeeded then also no NRC will be implemented in Tripura".
