Panchayat By-Election : CPI-M protests to EC against pre-poll BJP violence, many CPI-M leaders couldn't file nominations under BJP-rigging

AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): CPI-M strongly lodged protest in EC against JUMLA Party’s organized violence. As opposition CPI-M was unable to fetch and file nominations due to BJP led rigging in Tripura and many left without submitting nominations due to open rigging of election, CPI-M gheraoed Election Commission Office on Tuesday, which was the last date of nomination submission.

CPI-M activists led by Party leader Pabitra Kar protested before the State Election Commission office, voicing for democratic rights of oppositions. 

On yesterday CPI-M leaders had met West District Magistrate Sandeep Mahatme in this regard as no action was taken against BJP goons even after placing deputation to him earlier centering Bamutia BDO-meeting rigging incident. CPI-M told the DM BJP is continuing rigging across BDO meetings, neither allowing CPI-M to submit nominations, but no action was taken so far.

Tripura by-election to be conducted on Sep 30 for around 2500 vacant posts due to massive resignations of CPI-M leaders after Assembly Election. 

But BJP activists have started open violence backed by MLAs and party leaders resulted many activists of Congress injured at Dukli block. BJP activists were also injured after they stone pelted on Police and Police dispersed tear gas and also lathi charged.
