AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN):BJP Govt after assuming power terminated poor contract workers, halted various employments of middle class youths but what prevented Biplab Deb other than Manik Sarkar’s influence not to cancel appointing 4 Addl. Secretaries, a waste of Tax Payers money ? So far no statement issued from opposition CPI-M or Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar after BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s advisors had blamed the previous CPI-M Govt for promoting these four bureaucrats but without giving any designation in 2017, January 1st. The four new Chief Secretaries are : 1) Dr. U. Venkateswarlu, (MT:1986), 2) Lalit Kumar Gupta, (MT:1987), 3) Dr. GSG Ayyangar, (MT:1987), 4) Sushil Kumar, (MT:1987) are the additional chief secretaries. After four Addl Chief Secretaries were announced criticism erupted across media and on Thursday from Secretariat CM’s OSD and Principal Secretary reacted back saying ‘those promotions were actually done by the previous CPI-M Govt’ but as they were kept as the Principal Secretary, so the present Govt (BJP Govt) was bound to promote them.
However, no reaction came from CPI-M in this regard raising eyebrows against Manik Sarkar’s administration too.
Kumar Alok, the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Biplab Deb has blamed the previous CPI-M Govt behind the confusion going over the promotion of Secretaries into Additional Chief Secretaries.
According to Kumar Alok four of them were promoted by the previous CPI-M Govt in 2017, January 1st, but no designation was given which is "not correct" and thus the present Govt (BJP) have just given them their designations.
Kumar also said, Secretariat will be only one, not four, which was wrongly published in leading newspapers.
OSD of Tripura Sanjay Misra also joined the press conference.
