AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): After Chief Minister Biplab Deb claimed that CPI-M leaders from above 3000 posts had resigned at their own will and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that CPI-M is all doing dramas of being afraid with fake-allegations of violence, Bijan Dhar told media, "It's totally baseless claim of BJP as these leaders resigned from posts, not from the party". Bijan Dhar further said, "BJP is bringing false allegations that we are not getting candidates, but the resigned people themselves are CPI-M candidates, who are still CPI-M even after resigning. As CM said by-election is necessary for running of the administration, so we have no problem with that. But do it democratically. Our candidates resigned due to threats to their family members, wives, daughters". "We (Left Party Leaders) have met CEO today and placed a deputation describing him about the ongoing threats to the Left candidates. We told the Commission that the source of Election itself is abnormal", Bijan Dhar told media at Melarmath.

"Within 3 months of Govt, a fresh election is now needed is itself shows the abnormality of the situations in the state. How maximum seats left vacated ? They were bound to resign and now again election is being conducted", Dhar added.

A joint team of all Left Parties also placed a deputation to the Election Commission on Thursday complaining about the ongoing rigging in the state. But at the same time, CPI-M has decided to battle the election along with its allies of Left parties.

Total 8 violence related incidents have been told the CEO through a deputation. The Left parties further urged for a peaceful election and police's neutral roles of police by ensuring safety of the people and left parties candidates. Recently held violence in Bamutia block was mentioned by Left Parties to the CEO demanding FIR to be lodged against the accused in that incident. CPI-M also has demanded an alternative place like (DEO) DM office should be arranged for submission of nomination papers.
