Nurses condemn increasing attacks by Patients, warn ‘Strike’

UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): Members of ‘All Tripura Nurses Association’ on Thursday have visited Gomati District Hospital, condemned the attack held upon nurses and hospital staffs on Tuesday night after a patient Amulya Dey had died.

Two members of All Tripura Nursing Association Shikha Deb, Anjali Das have met the nurses at there and asked them about the whole incident. The nurses said, even though they were not physically attacked but the patient party was using slang languages to hit them. Later the lady staff locked herself inside a room to save herself from the angry patient.

The Nurses Association have demanded punishment to the persons involved in hospital vandalizing.

They said, “We work day and night for patients but constantly we are being attacked. If such situations continue, we will go in strike in coming days”.

Police have arrested 1 person and produced before the court. Another person can be arrested, a source said.

On Tuesday, one 50 years man Amulya Dey, resident of Amarsagar, West side when like everyday went to market, he was fainted. Immediately he was taken to Gomati District hospital and after few times he died.

Patient party alleged that neither the Doctor can say what happened to Amulya Dey nor she checked the patient.
