Agriculture Director suspends employee after Fake Graduation Certificate Exposed via media : No legal action taken

AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): Director of Agriculture D P Sarkar’s role once again under scanner as immediately after media had exposed one Govt employee under Agriculture Dept. having fake Graduation degree, the Director has suspended him but surprisingly no legal action has been taken against the employee. According to the sources, Sumit Nandi who is just Class-12 pass was appointed in the Agri-Assistant post in Lembuchara.Recently few media have exposed Sumit Nandi’s fake graduation certificate and following the media report Govt had ordered verification and after verification Director of Agriculture D P Sarkar has suspended Sumit Nandi, without taking any legal action against him.Few Agriculture Dept employees has raised question, on the role of D P Sarkar, the Director, for managing a 12 passed candidate’s job under Govt Dept. Employees also have demanded legal action against Sumit Nandi and also high level investigation to probe the recruitment process which was done under D P Sarkar led Sumit Nandi's appointment.

There are other allegations against the Agriculture Dept for constant breaking of rules. After the election result was out immediately total 116 staffs have been appointed under ATMA project. Two of the employees Piyali Bhowmik and Debashree Bhowmik were posted in Jirania and Bamutia but surprisingly none of them are working on spot and everyday they are joining in Lembuchara office, where they do not have any function.

Agriculture Dept’s employees have demanded Govt’s strict observation and fact checking in such matters.
