‘BJP Govt suspended internet followed by BJP Minister & activists created rumours’ : Badal Choudhury

AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): Govt has added more 24 hours of internet banning in Tripura. CPI-M MLA Badal Choudhury has hit the BJP Govt’s internet suspension saying it was followed by only BJP activists created rumours. “It is no more secret that BJP activists mongered the rumour and a major contribution in that was done by Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath. How openly he was briefing media that the kidney was stolen, kidney can be smuggled etc and Chief Minister Biplab Deb also caught the tuned of Minister Ratan Lal Nath by talking about Indo-Bangla border sealing and all these”, Badal Choudhury told TIWN. Choudhury also mentioned, there was no need so lengthy internet suspension as there is no communal issue at all, rather they should take the law and order in hands.“It’s true that to tackle the law and order issues, state govt has right to suspend the internet, but it is too late and 3 days long ‘No Internet’ are creating huge problems for people”, Badal Choudhury added.

Noteworthy, the 48 hours long internet suspension since Thursday evening has been continuing in Tripura on Saturday and now Govt has added more 24 hours of more banning in it.

When Public were expecting the resuming of internet service from the evening. State Govt had suspended internet, sms service in Tripura for more 48 hours to stop rumours followed by various murders.

According to govt and police, social media led rumour mongering are spreading mass tension among the common men with baseless facts. Total 4 persons have been killed in mob-violence across Tripura followed by rumours.4

However, following the incident Congress and CPI-M both have blamed ruling BJP, whereas BJP has blamed CPI-M.
