AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday has defended his party MLAs saying, Manik Sarkar was not at all insulted with personal attacks on Wednesday centering his leave. Not only this, Ratan Lal Nath mentioned Manik Sarkar as 'Anti National' which triggered controversy.

Addressing the Assembly, Ratan Lal Nath said, according to law if any MLA during Assembly decides to be absent s/he is bound to inform the speaker.

Ratan Lal Nath also took a law’s book in hand explaining ‘which words can't be used’ during Assembly.

Nath mentioned few words as 'dog', 'bastard' and said, apart from those words any word can be used in the Assembly including 'Anti-National'.

Nath also showed his leave applications written to the speaker since 2006 whenever he took leave as opposition MLAs during Assembly sessions.

On Wednesday, Tripura Ex-CM Manik Sarkar went to Panisagar to meet the family members of killed CPI-M leader, but he was in unauthorized leave.

Centering that issue, one of the MLAs raised question why Manik Sarkar doesn’t mention his parent’s name anywhere.

After that oppositions walked out of the Assembly, alleging personal attacks were done upon opposition leader Ex-CM Manik Sarkar.
