AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Ahead of 100 days completion BJP Govt is facing mass anger in poverty dominated state Tripura. With few illegal business’s banning since a month, Biplab Deb led BJP Govt has started to face tough times from poor workers. Before making any alternative livelihood arrangements, the sudden banning of sand mining has led chaos, fighting in the capital city among the mob today. After sand mining has been totally banned in Tripura, businessmen and workers who are related to the profession have blocked a main road today at Agartala City in the Bankumari area.

The blockade for hours halted traffic movement, creating much problems for office goers and also school, college students. After the road blockage had been continued for one hour local people without any political attire had attacked the blockaders and mass beaten them.

However, whether there was any political influence in both sides of the blockaders and the attackers, it has not been known. 

Many of the road blockaders escaped from the spot, whereas few were beaten heavily by the angry public. Police also later joined with lathi charge but nobody was injured seriously in that clash. 

Sand mining has been profession of thousands of people in Tripura but excessive sand mining leading floods and rivers are affected due to the  sand mining.

In this situation, Tripura Govt is not allowing sand-mining for now which has affected thousands of families.

Agitated road blockaders said,  “The new govt has blocked all works. In ADC areas all kinds of works have been stopped. Today due to sand-mining business's banning at least 15000 people’s lives are under risks. We are unable to arrange meals for our children !”

“We don’t know anything. We need to survive at first, then you form new Tripura or whatever your vision is”, they said.

When Govt official arrived the spot, the agitators said unless and until he promises to save their livelihood, blockade will not be withdrawn.

The agitators also said their livelihood snatched since 1 week.

On that time, angry locals started beating the agitators, led the whole chaos in the Capital City. The situation is now under control.
