AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): In a rare display of cultured democratic spirit when all BJP leaders and Ministers are now badmouthing CPI-M Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, BJP Health Minister Sudip Barman on World Blood Donor Day has credited Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for his successful drive with blood donation camps in Tripura. Sudip Barman was addressing at Rabindra Bhawan, when he said this. Barman also said, Manik Sarkar should be awarded for his achievement as because of him, today blood banks of Tripura are in good shape and people are ready yo donate blood without any fear. "Encouraging people for blood donation voluntarily has been a great effort made by Manik Sarkar and I thank him for that", Barman added. Barman was addressing at Rabindra Bhawan, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, in the presence of School children and police officials.

Tripura recorded many times with high percentage of blood donations and blood donation has been a common mean for social work either via political organization or any social club in state Tripura. 

Recently Minister Sudip Barman exposed with his midnight surprise visit how at GB Hospital without blood tests,  reports are being given to the patient parties which can lead many death also and the assigned doctor sleeps at home during night duty. Barman time to time has motivated people to continue the trend of blood donation campaigning in Tripura.

Recently Barman also motivated a rotation-wise blood donation camps arrangement so that no blood get wasted. 

Today along with whole world Tripura also celebrated World Blood Donor Day at Agartala.

UN today said on this occasion, “Blood transfusions can save lives but adequate supply of safe blood can only be assured through regular & voluntary donations”.

In Tripura percentage of voluntary blood donation has been above 95 %.
