AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): Amid Biplab Deb’s drum-beating on various achievements by BJP Govt in 3 months, thousands hapless victims are suffering from flash flooding across Tripura. Monsoon started in full swing in Northeast state Tripura, various parts are suffering from flooding affecting thousands of families. Among all the 8 Districts existing in the state, North Tripura is facing highest dangers right now. Over 4000 families have taken shelter in various relief camps, but even though relief camps are opened but locals alleged that NDRF, Disaster Management''s role is totally unsatisfactory and local Disaster Management authority proven fully unhelpful in crisis situations. Every year lakhs of rupees are spent in demos but when the actual dangerous situation arises, Disaster Management's role stays cold in the North District, alleged locals at the relief camps.

Pecharthal, Machmara, Nabin Chara areas have totally gone under water, even high buildings also gripped by flood water.

TIWN visited few relief camps as Pecharthal Forest Office, Pecharthal school etc and the conditions of the relief camps are livable. The numbers of flood affected people may increase if rain continues.

Since Monday the constant heavy raining started at North Tripura, led such pathetic situation. Rainfalls have been continuing at North District leading more dangers.

Landslides, tree and houses damaged have also been recorded across the state. Flood threat since yesterday has triggered tension at South Tripura too with Feni river water overflowing.
