AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): It will be not less than a miracle if Supreme Court allows terminated 10323 teachers to continue jobs for more two years. On the ground of teachers crisis, even though BJP Govt has decided to knock the Supreme Court, to extend the jobs of 10323 teachers up to 2020 but the same was appealed by CPI-M govt too. CPI-M Govt demanded 1 year extension of the teachers jobs whereas Supreme Court gave 6 months on ad hoc basis, terminating the teacher after 31st December 2017. This particular action of the BJP Govt however has labeled both BJP and CPI-M Govt in same category as CPI-M Govt also referred the teachers crisis situations in the Supreme Court. On the other side, BJP Govt is repeatedly reminding the teachers-crisis situation via press conferences and speeches, which clearly signals that with various kinds of relaxations including may be ‘age’ the govt will jump to recruit people in teaching by compromising quality education.

However, B.Ed less teachers recruitment in schools (if) will be equivalent to appointing Nurses in Doctors’ posts.Even though, BJP Govt is working hard to overcome Supreme Court's verdict, but question raises, how can Supreme Court.

Not only this, the BJP Govt’s support for 10323 have shocked a major section of unemployed youths. The 10323 teachers who were terminated with Supreme Court’s final verdict are going to lose their jobs after 30th June 2018 as after 31st December-2017 their jobs were increased on ad hoc basis for more 6 months but that tenure also is going to end on June 30th.

On yesterday’s press meet Law Minister cum Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “As you know on 30th June 2018, Supreme Court led terminated 10323 teachers' jobs tenure will be ended on ad hoc basis, thus the State Govt has decided to appeal the Supreme Court to give more relaxation for the teachers so that they can continue their jobs at least till 2020”.

The 10323 teachers who were terminated with Supreme Court’s final verdict are going to lose their jobs after 30th June 2018 as after 31st December their jobs were increased on ad-hoc basis for more 6 months but that tenure also is going to end on June 30th. 10,323 teachers' jobs were first cancelled by Tripura High Court in 2014 on May 7 after spotting irregularities in the recruitment process, before the issue was taken to Supreme Court by the the CPI-M Govt.

A division bench of the high court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, had passed then order May 7, 2014 terminating the jobs of 10,323 school teachers after Dec 31, citing irregularities in recruitment and SC has upheld High Court's 2014 verdict.

On March 29, 2017, the Supreme Court also held High Court's order and terminated the teachers. Supreme Court in a humanaitarian gesture to 10323 teachers mentioned that the teachers will continue their jobs till 2017, 31st Dec.

Later with the request of Tripura Govt, the Supreme Court added 6 months of ad hoc basis jobs for the teachers which will be end on June 30, 2018.
