AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): “The drive was against Anti-social elements….”, said West SP Abhijit Saptarshi after police's success over thieves and mafias at Agartala. Today, Police have arrested 3 persons in total in separate searches : Two drives were against thieves and another was against a mafia from whom at least two pistols were recovered. “Since last few days, we are working against anti-social activists. Today we have developed further against the anti-social elements under DGP’s order”, said SP. “Under West Agartala Police Station today we have arrested total 3 persons. One person among them is : Srikrishna Nama, who is suspected in theft case, was arrested by West Police. Many important items have been found from him including wrist watches", SP told media.

“Another is Sahin Mia, from whom two pistols were recovered. We have suspected that he has committed crimes with that or may commit by it, or he can threat people with that”, SP added. 

“Another is Gautam Sarkar. From Gautam Sarkar a KTM bike was also recovered”, he said,

“Via media we want to assure people that police is determined to crackdown anti-social elements. If people have any information, they must inform police or the control room. Police will take more strict actions in coming days”, said Saptarshi.
