AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): EPF Pensioners Association led by TRTC employees today have demanded more numbers of judges in Tripura High Court to speed up the pending cases. According to the pensioners, due to lack of judges, the pending cases killed a huge time under the left govt and in some cases even after the High Court's final verdict, they had to re-file cases against state govt for violating of High Court's order by not implementing what High Court directed.

 In this condition, the pensioners said, "In 2014 and 2015 two judges took retirements, but those vacant posts were never fulfilled. In this condition we demand that there must be more numbers of judges in the Court". The pensioners have also demanded equal payments like the state govt employees. 

"We are demanding for equal payments like state govt employees for TRTC workers and other PSU's employees but unfortunately in CPI-M regime, we were never paid like state govt employees. Now the new govt is our only hope", said Samar Roy, Chairman of Tripura State Govt undertaking EPF Pensioner's Association. 

They also filed various cases in the High Court years after years and all the verdicts were in their favour. But whenever the pensioners protested they had been arrested by the Police, said Samar Roy.

 In this condition, the pensioners, employees will meet the new Chief Minister Biplab Deb soon to sort out the issue.

At the same time, the demand of judges' appointments will also be placed before the CM.
