AGARTALA / AMARPUR, Feb 21 (TIWN): Such a barbaric incident took place in Tripura on yesterday when a widow was beaten, assaulted by few women in the broad day light, but no political party has raised voice against the violent crime. The incident was even worse than 'Mahabharat's episode with Draupadi', but no political party was shocked by the incident. Birganj Women Police Station has informed that today a case was registered by the victim Pramila Debnath, but nobody yet has been arrested. Even though Mohila Commission members were scheduled to visit the spot and the journalists there were waiting for whole day to see their glimpses, but nobody yet has come to meet the victim or investigate the matter. 24 hours have gone, but police have not arrested a single culprit who openly tortured the woman. Even after the video became viral, where police personnel were standing during the incident, no suo-moto case was filed by police.

Noteworthy, centering one suicide incident, one widow was mass beaten, assaulted by her in-law's family members and villagers on yesterday.

The incident took place at Mailak village of Amarpur today after Rajib Shil, S/O-Narayan Shil had committed suicide in his own house.

Getting informed, the local people rushed to the house and alleged that Rajib's wife Pramila Debnath has killed her husband.

When the helpless woman Pramila Debnath was trying to escape, her sister-in-law and few other women had gripped her and started mass-beating.

Surprising matter is that Birganj PS OC Dulal Chandra Das and few more police officials remained present when the woman was attacked. Being asked by media, the SDPO Souvik Kr Dey said in front of common people's anger police could do 'nothing'. Police neither fired in the air nor called force to save her.

Not only this, she was assaulted in the day time openly, as her clothes were snatched from her body.

Right now the woman and his son have been kept at Birganj police station, but tragically nobody was so far nobody arrested.

Question also raised against the opposition BJP's silence even after two similar incidents held in state within a month. At Sonamura also a woman was beaten, assaulted with 'characterless' allegation. With such attitudes, the party is claiming to fix the law and order of the state ?
