AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): Annual Police Commemoration Day was observed here at FTR HQ BSF Salbagan on 21 October 2017

On this day, names of 370 personnel, martyred from all Police/ CAPF all over the country were read over by SR Ojha, IG BSF Tripura. This was followed by paying homage to all the martyrs by special guard. List of this year included 54 martyrs from BSF.

Next of Kins of the martyrs were felicitated by BSF personnel at different locations in the State in their respective school premises.A Half Marathon will also be organized by all the BSF establishments at their respective HQs on 22nd Oct, 2017 to create awareness among general public about martyrs. Every year Police Commemoration Day is observed-throughout the nation-on 21 Oct 2017 in memory of brave CRPF Soldiers, who made supreme sacrifice while fighting with Chinese Army in 1959 in Laddakh region.
